What feels magical is that I’m starting to receive messages from people saying that they appreciate my work or that it had an impact on them. It’s reminding me of why I felt so called to this work in the first place before it got mixed in with wanting to create a business and start generating an income from it. I think what would feel even more magical is to start anchoring into this even more with the offerings I’ll be creating in coming weeks, I’m letting myself really revel in the receiving of this feeling of impact, trusting that the business side will come but that the core is deeper.

This is beautiful Sarah, thank you for sharing! Hearing from people that you're making an impact on them is indeed so magical, I agree! Are you keeping those messages somewhere to reread? x

Creating a folder of messages is definitely a task on the to do list!

I copy and paste messages into a 'note' in Notion, which--following the advice of a friend--I call my Keep Going list. Works really well and easier than a folder for me :)

It’s not the most insightful comment but I loved Workin’ Moms!

Good thanks! Baby is 8 months and crawling and teething and keeping me busy! I’m enjoying this time but looking forward to diving back into my business in the new year. All the possibility feels quite magical to me at the moment ✨

I’ve never heard of that book before but promptly going to see if I can find it in the library. It sounds excellent and inspiring.

Congrats on hitting the 1000 subscribers milestone. It seems like a special number for some reason. I’ve got a bit to go yet but would love to see my own Substack community grow to that by the end of the year ♥️

Writing a newsletter and feeling like I have something interesting to say has been slightly magic some days and a place where I wish I had more magic other days. Overall, I am pleased with what I have been able to accomplish. In September I move it to Substack which I am really excited and also nervous about.

The Art of Gathering is one of my favorite books! I love that you have gone back to re-read it. It is inspiring me to do the same. And I also love your two new offerings--the accountability group and the mastermind group. Those are exactly what I need this coming fall. Thank you for providing these helpful resources!

Hello Astrid. I'm new to your community and to running my own business. I've recently taken a leap of faith to *not* look for full time paid work, so that I can devote time and energy to setting up a new, slow, creative focused business. One aspect of it will be to relaunch my Substack in mid September with a paid option (that's the scary part, that I have been putting off for ages - the old 'what do I have to offer?' obstacle). I'm hoping this will feel magical.

On a side note, I've also been using the word "magic" this summer in my Summer of Magic 100 word story series. It seems that magic is in the air! 🪄

Thank you for your lovely comment Debs--your new business sounds exciting and amazing (and scary, but all the good things are). I'm rooting for you and for your paid offer 💪🏻 And here's to more magic ✨

Oh, thank you! I need all the rooting you can offer! I am soooo scared about the paid offering, but am determined to go ahead - it's time!

I know how it feels--a good thing to remember is that people only partially become paid subscribers because they *get* something extra. The other part of the reason often is because they want to support someone. So it's not necessarily about you creating tons of extra content to make it worthwhile for them (and, I'd say you should only create as much additional content as is do-able for you). Finally, newsletter and Substack-growth is a long game, so take your time :)

That's definitely one thing I've been niggling over - what is paid content and how much of it. So your reminder comes at just the right time - I really appreciate it.
