Hi Astrid and everyone. Just wanted to come back and say I bit the bullet and launched my newsletter this week, aargh! Thanks for the encouragement. https://substack.com/@mickirose. We're off! x
Helpful info here, thank you! A quick question - do you re publish your newsletters as blog posts on your website? I couldn't tell if that's the case but would love to know! I definitely see the value in having all the content provide SEO value to your primary site. But then if the content is duplicated across two places is that a bad thing?
Hi Jess, thank you for commenting! Yes, I publish the newsletters on my blog as blog posts. So far Iβve not seen negative effects of the content being in two places, and Iβve been doing this for nearly two years :) Have a lovely rest of your week!
Hi Astrid, been lurking here for a while and enjoying your approach. I am just about to move my list to Substack to really concentrate on my newsletter, have come off all social media. Then someone yesterday warned me that Substack emails are hacked quite often, accounts get shut down with no warning or recourse and there is no customer service apart from bots. I wanted to ask about your experience of Substack if poss pls? I'm nervous now!
Thank you for your comment Micki! I have not heard of Substack emails getting hacked thankfully. As for the support: Substack indeed introduced a bot a while back to help troubleshoot common problems, and that works for many people. They've made it more difficult indeed to contact a regular human, but the bot will forward your problem to the support-team if it's unable to help. The help centre is a great resource though: https://support.substack.com/hc/en-us I hope this helps, and enjoy moving your newsletter!
Hi Micki, I have not been on Substack long enough to know of any hacking, but I used Astrid's course as one of the things to guide me through the move (from Aweber), and I couldn't be happier here. Don't hesitate; line up all your ducks and go! (BTW, this is also a great opportunity to clean up your email list, so don't skip that step. Do it in the old platform, before you migrate to Substack).
Loved this Astrid. I do share mine on LinkedIn too - kind of repurpose elements and invite people to subscribe. And thank you for your vision newsletter - I mentioned it in mine today xo
Thank you for the mention Antonia and for commenting! Sharing on LinkedIn if that is something that you use regularly is a great idea too :) Have a lovely rest of your week β¨
