I’ve been slowly going this direction. I kept my LI profile but it’s not on my phone and I decided I won’t be using it. My Facebook and IG are gone. Never had Tik Tok. I only use YouTube for my blog videos. I use Pinterest once a week to share my posts. And Substack. I’m also an introvert and can relate to the overwhelm. I have a marketing background and I hate marketing, at least how it’s currently done.

I love your current marketing strategy Michelle, and how you’re choosing more evergreen channels—choosing your own approach is so empowering 💪🏻

Definitely! Monetizing Substack is my next goal.

This resonates with me Astrid. I never felt on top of posting on SM - even LI which I felt was the best outlet for me caused me pressure

I don’t identify as an obsessive person but SM hooks you in and provokes that ‘must look, must post’ stress. It promotes inauthenticity.

Leaving it all behind feels scary because it’s swimming against the tide. But I’m going for it

Thank you for commenting Chris! And yes, it does feel like swimming against the tide, which is scary, but also really empowering! And you’re doing so amazingly at growing your newsletter list and running your business without social media 💪🏻

This is a method I am trying to use, Substack with Pinterest. I haven't been active on Pinterest and unsure how to make pins well. I know Pinterest is a long game like Substack so this is a reminder to get back on Pinterest. 😊

Yes, it’s a long game—as all marketing is. But, everything you do now will pay off in the future :) Good luck Kay, and thank you for commenting!

Not quite ready for marketing just yet, still writing rough draft, but your message resonates with me so deeply. My only social media is LinkedIn and here on Substack, and I intend to keep it that way. So I will read all of your past posts and learn, learn, learn, and upgrade when I'm ready to market. It's nice to know you're here. Thanks for the work you are doing.
