Practicalities

The course consists of three foundational parts:

• introduction: examples and case studies of writers, small business owners, freelancers and artists using Substack for their business;

• setting up Substack: how to set up; adding design elements; how to write a good about-page and welcome email; how to make the move from an existing newsletter platform;

• writing, sharing and growing: deciding on a routine; sharing your Substack (primarily off social media); growing your newsletter community; options for going paid.

Each of these parts consists of a 30 to 40-minute video and is accompanied by worksheets in which I’ve collected questions, links, resources, templates and checklists.
